The Digital TV Association Joins the Conversation on NBTC Draft to Boost TV Accessibility for All

On March 6, 2026, Mr. Chakrit Direkwattanachai, Vice President of the Digital TV Association (Thailand), together with Ms. Nuntaphan Saengchai, Board Member and Treasurer, and Mr. Chanasak Siangsuebchart, association representative, led a team of digital TV broadcaster representatives to take part in a discussion on the NBTC’s draft notification titled “Criteria for Promoting and Protecting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to Access, Acknowledge, and Benefit from Television Programs.” The session was held at Ballroom 2, The Emerald Hotel, Bangkok.

The event brought together a vibrant mix of stakeholders—from the NBTC Office and digital TV operators across both commercial and public service sectors, to advocacy groups such as the Thailand Association of the Blind, the National Association of the Deaf in Thailand, the Thai Sign Language Interpreters Association, and the National Council on Disability of Thailand, along with representatives from academic institutions, government agencies, private organizations, and beyond.

Together, participants exchanged ideas, insights, and practical recommendations to help fine-tune the draft criteria—aiming to ensure that television content becomes more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for persons with disabilities across the country.
